Plenary #5 - Markham Ballroom SCADA Security Now and What to Expect in the Future Mark Fabro - President and Chief Security Scientist, Lofty Perch Mark Fabro is the President and Chief Security Scientist for Lofty Perch. His core expertise is in developing defensive and resilient computing strategies for SCADA, industrial control systems, and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). He is the co-chair of Working Group 10: Governance and Metrics for Industrial Automation and Control Systems Security. He is on the Utilities Telecomm Council (UTC) Smart Networks Security Committee and is the founder and chairman of the Canadian Industrial Cyber Security Council. Mr. Fabro has worked with DHS, Department of Energy, the White House, and government entities within the ‘Five Eyes' community. He has assisted and briefed more than 150 organizations and utility asset owners worldwide, and contributed to the U.S National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, and the cyber annex to the National Response Framework. 10:15 - 11:00 am Plenary #6 - Markham Ballroom Securing a Network Comprised of Open Source Applications and Using Opening Source Tools Paul Weatherhead - VP, Chief Technology Officer, Digital Boundary Group Shawn Southern - Manager of Information Technology, St. Thomas Energy Services Inc. Tom Bigos - Program Development Manager, Digital Boundary Group Open Source applications and tools are increasingly being employed to operate and secure Information Communication Technology networks. This session is intended to provide an overview of the current state of the market, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of open source as well as licensing options and present open source in the context of a complete network. 11:00 - noon Plenary #7 - Markham Ballroom An Overview of Research and Technology Bob Stasko - Director, Business Development, Ontario Centres of Excellence The Ontario Centres of Excellence is a non-profit agency, outside of the Ontario government. Its key partners include many of Ontario's leading technical universities and colleges.
